Formed from the ashes of the first incarnation of "Gambo's Blues Band" and the heart of the current line-up. Gambo, Armson & Molloy are three accomplished musicians with a common love of performing the blues. Gambo has over 25 years of experience as a live performer. Having started out as a drummer at the age of 12, soon getting bored with sitting at the back, he developed his vocal talents and has performed many styles and genres of music but has always maintained a strong connection with the Blues. His powerful, soulful delivery will make you stop and listen. He also plays guitar with the trio as well as percussion, when the mood takes him. Armson is an accomplished blues musician with an original approach to the music. He is indeed sinister (a left-hooker) but can, remarkably, play a right-handed guitar just as well! His unique style brings a new angle on traditional Chicago Blues and the trio set-up gives him full scope to showcase his talents, superbly filling out the sound and producing imaginative solos on his electro/acoustic Martin Backpacker. He also provides lead or backing vocals on some tracks. Molloy is an established Blues Bassist having played with several Blues outfits over the years. He is the engine-room of the trio, driving the music along with his subtle but strong acoustic bass lines, he lays down the rhythms upon which the songs are built! He occasionally swaps his four strings for six and is also responsible for the recording and production of the trio's demos. |
